ComScore’s December 2013 job board traffic data demonstrates that job seekers are increasingly preferring to use aggregators but are continuing to use the major recruitment sites at a lower level. It also looks like Indeed.com is taking a real lead over its major competitor, SimplyHired. In a look at traffic for the four biggest performers, (Indeed, SimplyHired, Monster and CareerBuilder) Indeed was the only one whose traffic didn’t take a year-over-year nose dive. SimplyHired’s drop was less than half of that for Monster.com, which suffered a 36 percent year-over-year drop in unique visitors.
According to the 2013 year-end desktop data released by comScore, Indeed has once again taken top spot for the Career Resources category traffic in the US. Paul D’Arcy, SVP of Marketing at Indeed commented “Every visit to Indeed is our opportunity to connect job seekers with the right career opportunity. We’re honoured that comScore’s annual rankings show that more unique visitors and more job seekers, visit Indeed than any other job site”
ComScore’s data also reports that Indeed showed a 21% year-over-year increase in unique monthly visitors while others in the Career Resources category showed sharp declines in 2013, including Careerbuilder (-26%), Monster (-36%), and SimplyHired (-17%).

Indeed, the original job search engine founded in 2004, has changed the way people find the right jobs and the way employers find the right candidates. ComScore’s Job Search category data also indicates that 72% of people searching for jobs online visit Indeed.
Other accolades from 2013 include Indeeds’ mobile application being ranked the #1 Free Business App for iOS and Android. Additional research from SilkRoad found that Indeed drove more hires than the next four job sites combined and nearly 10 times the number of hires driven by LinkedIn.
